Advantages of Pellet stove inserts

pellet stoves

When purchasing a pellet stove you will have to make a few different choices. One of the choices you will face is whether you will buy free-standing or pellet stove inserts. The decision will be based on the amount of space you have in the room as well as what you would like to do with it. While you may want to buy one simply to use it as the fireplace, it is important to decide if this is the best decision in regards to what you would like to use the stove for.

Great Looking Fireplace

One of the great things about pellet stove inserts is that you will be able to use it as the fireplace. This is enviable because the dry burning pellets will allow quick and bright flames for the room. This will allow you to enjoy the heat and comfort of the pellet stove. You will also be able to enjoy something which is unique to the winter time. The insert is a great way to save money on gas or electricity by burning a fire in the fireplace.

Variety of Fuels

Unlike in some of the free-standing models, pellet stove inserts will allow you to burn more varieties of pellet fuel. Instead of wood, you can burn corn or mixed types of fuel. This will allow you to save even more money on the pellets you purchase for your unit. It is possible to use different kinds of fuels because you will not have to worry about leaks in the exhaust pipes. This is because you will use the chimney to exhaust the fumes.

Variety of Looks

Pellet stove inserts come in a variety of different looks. This will allow you to easily match the insert you buy with the rest of the d├ęcor of your home. The model you choose will depend on the amount of heat you are looking to pump into the room. It will also depend on the look of the rest of the room. Some models will stick out from the fireplace and mantel while others will look like they are simply a part of the original design of the home. This will allow you to enjoy a personal style.

Is it possible to put a pellet stove insert in a fireplace in my finished basement room and have it heat our 2600 sq.ft. house, or at least the above first floor? How would this be done? We don’t have air ducts. The pellet stove would be right underneath the lving room.
